Welcome to church again this new Lord’s Day! Praise God not only for the privilege of Christian worship but for the Triune God we may worship. He condescends to us through His word and gospel to minister to His people and to save sinners. What amazing grace that God sent His Son and gives His gospel to seek and to save the lost. May we have another blessed day in His House today. To God be all the glory, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Today we welcome our guest minister, Rev. Henk Bergsma, pastor of the FRC in Fenwick, Ontario. Thanks for coming out to preach the gospel tidings to us. God bless you and make you a blessing here and also in your congregation and wherever you proclaim His Word and help shepherd His flock.

Quotes to reflect on:

“It is only at the cross we see sin punished and mercy made freely available.” A. Begg

“…It is always the same bountiful Word, which the Spirit employs to make the church grow in the grace and knowledge of Christ.” H. Bavinck

By faith we expect rich harvest fields and breaking nets, for the gospel is specifically designed to bear fruit. J. Miller

“One of the richest blessings of the covenant of grace is to be instructed in the treasures of [THE LORD’S] Word and in the faithfulness of His dealings. J. Westerink

“We part from those who fall asleep in Jesus in the blessed confidence that we shall meet and see them again, better, stronger, more beautiful than they ever were upon earth. For ever let us thank God that the glorious gospel which we profess to believe makes provision for our bodies as well as our souls.” J.C. Ryle

Poem in reference to 7th commandment.

(Can be sung to tune of Psalter 397)

Most Holy God, thy precept’s just

Against impure desires and lust;

We therefore mourn with grief and shame

Our guilty and polluted frame.

We know by nature, we’re unclean,

Our powers debased, affections mean;

We own our imperfect chastity,

The sensual heart, the wanton eye.

The seeds of every vice and sin,

Are rooted deep, and grow within;

And if preserved from filthy ways,

To grace alone belongs the praise.

O! shed abroad thy love divine,

Constrain us to be wholly thine;

And make our souls and bodies both

The temples of the Holy Ghost. Anon
