Welcome to church! Today is the last Sunday of November, and then there is the last month of another year, with five more Lord’s Days in that month in the year 2017. Thank God for the instituted day of rest and worship and fellowship!  May today be another very blessed day for all of us in every way, to the praise of our covenant-keeping, Saviour-God, the most gracious glorious Triune God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit! “O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt His name together.” Psalm 34:3

Quotes to reflect on:

“Sometimes we speak of situations where you can hear a pin drop. When we remember what is happening in [Christian] worship, anticipating it should create an atmosphere where you can hear a pin drop.” Rev. E. Kampen

“If I had known just how boundless is the love of God, just how transformative His grace and mercy, just how liberating His exemplary life and death, I would have run to Him years sooner with all my might.”  Nabeel Qureshi—A former devout Muslim who became a devoted godly Christian

“The root of all injustice in our urban centers, or anywhere else, is the pervasive human injustice against God. Where the rights of our Creator and Saviour are daily denied, we should not be surprised that the rights of persons created in his image are denied in a cavalier and selfish way. Until God is given his rights, no human rights will have much significance beyond convenience [emphasis mine, pho]. And when they are no longer convenient, they will be ignored, whether by violent police, traffic violators, looters, or murderers. The end of godlessness is anarchy.” John Piper

“The way to preserve the peace of the church is to preserve the purity of it.” Matthew Henry

“Only science that attempts to undermine the Bible is suspect.” R. Godfrey

“A well spent Sabbath we feel to be a day of heaven upon earth….We love to rise early on that morning and to sit up late, that we may have a long day with God.” RM MCheyne
