The church doors are open and the church has good news to proclaim. Indeed, the best news ever, the only gospel tidings for a sinful, perishing people, hopeless, Jesus be our Saviour and Lord. That Saviour calls to all people to come unto Him and be saved.  May we as congregation glory in the gospel today and being blessed by it, become a blessing to others through it too, by the saving and sanctifying ministry of God, the Holy Spirit! “Your way, O God, is in the sanctuary: who is so great a god as our God?” Psalm 77:13.

Today our pastor is leading the services in the Free Reformed Church of London, Ontario. He will be attending various synodical committee meetings the week after. We welcome Rev. Don Overbeek, minister of Bradford Heritage Reformed Church in Ontario to our pulpit today. The LORD bless you and make you a blessing in bringing the Christian gospel word to us. We thank God for you being willing and able to do so. Praise God from Whom all blessings flow!

Quotes to reflect on:

“The key to happy holiness is the gospel of Jesus Christ.” Dr. M. Barrett

“No mortal [in his sinful nature] ever contrived anything that did not basely corrupt religion.” John Calvin

“Scripture can communicate to us what the revelation in the creation cannot.” John Calvin

“All human effort to apologize and try to do better (a human being’s typical plan) falls infinitely short of dealing with the issues that separate us from God….Unless God Himself chose to reconcile sinners, reconciliation would be impossible. Here is grace. The offended God in His good pleasure effected the reconciliation of sinners to Himself.” Dr. M. Barrett

“Dr. Ironside felt that he was not as humble as he thought he ought to be. Showing his concern, he asked an elder friend what he could do about it. His friend replied, ‘Make a sandwich board with the plan of salvation in Scripture on it and wear it, then walk through the business and shopping area of downtown Chicago for a whole day.’ Ironside followed his friend’s advice. Upon completion of this humiliating experience, he returned to his apartment. As he took off the sandwich board, he caught himself thinking, ‘There’s not another person in Chicago that would be willing to do a thing like that.’”
